A cancelled open-world game, working title Meridian, whose lore bible describes “a world where every religion is a corrupted save file of one original event.” The leaked notes include:

“Writers: do NOT invent new myths. Recolor the real ones. Players must feel they already know the story — the horror is recognition, not surprise. If a tester says ‘wait, this is real, right?’ we’ve hit tone.”

The studio’s cancellation notice cited “direction concerns.”

In plain words
A video game was built on the idea that all religions share one source. It was cancelled the moment playtesters started asking if it was real.
Readings · how 3 of the five doctrines interpret this record
The label reprinting itself in the newest medium available, as it always does. Fiction is the current dosage form.
Nothing conceals a truth as completely as everyone having already enjoyed it as a story. The cut maintains itself now; entertainment is the scar tissue.
Ask why it was cancelled at exactly the moment the tone was achieved.
