Harrow spent eleven months collecting deluge accounts in the Pacific. Final entry:
“The elder laughed at my questions. He said: you are writing down the pieces and think yourself clever. Child, the story is not broken. The story was cut, and whoever cut it [····] the knife. Then he said nothing more, and gave me fruit, and treated me kindly, as one treats the very ill.”
Harrow filed no further reports. Her clearance was voluntarily surrendered in 1898. Transcription confidence for the elder’s statement: 84%.
