Eighteen centuries apart, the identical engineering claim: the primal record was written on media deliberately hardened against the same two named destroyers, water and fire · and both authors insist the artifact is still physically extant and inspectable ('remains... to this day' / 'before the writer's eye'). The preservation claim always comes with a present-tense custody claim.

'An Archaic Manuscript · a collection of palm leaves made impermeable to water, fire, and air, by some specific unknown process · is before the writer's eye.'
