Thirty agreed facts. No explanations, just what the evidence shows.
A few findings are sealed. They open at Keeper clearance, which you reach by reading four
records.
01 A single narrative source predates the recurrence pattern. The archive designates it “the record.”
02 The sentence recurs verbatim in nine unconnected traditions. Reading it is sufficient for carriership.
03 The distribution of fragments shows design, not drift. The event is designated the severance.
04 At least one physical carrier was deliberately effaced by skilled labor (AP-0001).
05 The authors of the record withheld their own names, by choice.
06 No tradition preserves the long sleep openly; each preserves it as a gap of the same shape.
07 The pattern has been independently discovered at least four times before the archive. Each discoverer stopped work within two years.
08 The archive’s founding charter is itself a recovered document. Its authorship is unestablished.
09 The serpent figure across traditions examines and departs. It is never recorded taking anything.

11 Where unconnected traditions preserve the same episode, they differ by inversion, not by loss. The bird that fails in one account succeeds in the other. It is the same bird.
12 Variance between copies is not evenly distributed. Incidental detail survives exactly: the offering, the smoke, the token of the vow. Divergence concentrates at the points of consequence.
13 Damage to the physical carriers is not random. Lacunae fall at corresponding points in copies that never met.
14 The sentence has been recovered from clay, stone, skin, the notation of a song, and a living speaker under sedation. Its wording is identical in every medium. The record around it never is.
15 In the episode designated the remaking of the peoples, each tradition pauses in the same place to explain a name. No two explanations agree. No tradition omits the pause.
16 What is granted arrives concealed in something small: a warning through a wall of reeds, fire inside a hollow stalk. No tradition records force succeeding.
17 Where the serpent withholds a thing, the thing is barred, not taken: the waters, the way, the well. Every such account ends the same: the bar lifted, the thing entire.

19 No tradition narrates the interval between ages. Each records only the shelter: its dimensions, its occupants, its term.
20 Where a first age ends, it ends by withdrawal, not destruction. In the deluge accounts, the waters are already present; what is removed is the restraint of them. What is withdrawn is inventoried.
21 Tellers on record who could date their first exposure placed it in childhood. No teller on record claims to be the first. The chain has no recorded beginning.
22 Every recovery of the sentence from a living speaker occurred under sedation (AP-0026), in fever, or at the edge of sleep. No recovery from an alert speaker is on file.
23 Nothing observable happens to carriers. No carrier has ever asked to be removed from the count.
24 At least two unconnected codes of law attach their supreme penalty to the speaking of one name. The archive holds copies of both. In every copy the penalty is preserved in full, and in every copy the name is effaced.
25 Every recorded abandonment of the work was voluntary: a withdrawal, a surrendered clearance, a cancellation. The archive holds no account of anyone being made to stop.
26 Portions of the collection arrived already catalogued. The numbering they carry is not the archive’s, and no institution has been found that claims it.
27 No effacement in the collection is careless. Every erasure is skilled, and every erasure is exact: nothing adjacent is ever touched.
28 The founding charter specifies procedures only. It contains no statement of purpose, and it makes no provision by which the archive may end.
